"when eros’ paper wings burned up in the invisible boundary line” (2020)://

(Fall BFA piece 🥰)—/////

Considering the molding, breathing nature of our memory in direct correlation with the human life cycle, I’m fabricating knowingly “failed” representations of our glossed over, fragmented, fixated recollections of our memories through a paint & light-based installation practice. Working inside the language of mythology, I’m attempting to fabricate a clear visual construction of a transcendental portal for audiences to peer into my experiences of longing for family that has been lost and never found through the rewritten lens of “Eros”, one of my poetic identities that services as an all encapsulating character representative of my love, loss, sympathy, and empathy. Within when eros’ paper wings burned up in the invisible boundary line, Eros’ origins is told, “I tried to fly up to see you, but I realized my wings are made of paper, so they burned up in the lights of the invisible boundary line.” (the invisible boundary line being where the sky and water meet in an uncut connection, an entry way to the heavens) “And so I fell into the clouded ocean of sugar water, and all I could do was reach for you you you you you you-”//// “i tried” “to fly” “up” “to see you” “you” “i miss you” “i love you”
